Macedonian Films At Cannes Film Market
Macedonia Featured In Variety Magazine
For the third time in a row, the Macedonian Film Fund presents three Macedonian films at the Cannes Film Market, a branch of the Cannes Film Festival, one of world's most prestigious film festivals.

The Macedonian films that have already had their screenings are Teona Strugar Mitevska’s latest film “The Woman Who Brushed Off Her Tears” ( with a premiere screening on Saturday, 10 h, at RIVIERA 3) and the “Balkan Is Not Dead” by Aleksandar Popovski (Sunday, 11.30 h at PALAIS D). At the same time tomorrow, PALAIS D will also host a screening of Darko Mitrevski’s “The Third Half”.

Macedonian Film Fund At Cannes Film Festival
For the third consecutive year, the Macedonian Film Fund will be taking part at this year’s 65th edition of Cannes Film Festival (16-27 May), presenting the Macedonian cinematic output to the rest of the filmmaking community, thus promoting the country as a film location which provides low income taxes and guarantees the most favorable conditions for filmmakers.

Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Serbia, Cyprus and Albania will all join forces in the presentation and promotion of South-Eastern European cinema at the regional pavilion of South-Eastern Europe (SEE Pavilion), as part of this year’s Cannes Film Market (Marche du Film). The Cannes Film Market, dubbed as one of the largest and most prestigious film industry trade markets in the world, is an annual meeting place of a vast number of producers, directors, festival programmers, sales agents, and other film industry professionals.

Vladimir Blazevski’s award-winning film “Punk’s Not Dead” continues its successful journey to festivals worldwide. The film won the Best Screenplay Award in competition for Feature Films within this year’s 7th edition of Monaco Charity Film Festival, which took place May 8-15.

In Gjorce Stavreski’s newest short “Audition Material” a landlady asks her tenant a seemingly innocent favor – to drop off her young female friend and her little daughter somewhere in the city. The tenant is unwillingly involved in a dubious act as he realizes that the young woman is leaving her daughter in an orphanage.
Vardan Tozija’s “There's a Man in the Habit of Hitting me on the Head with an Umbrella” revolves around Peter, an outcast and a loser. One day a small man comes from nowhere and starts hitting Peter's head with an umbrella. Suddenly, strange changes start in Peter's life.
“To The Hilt” Starts Shooting This Week

The filming of Stole Popov’s new film, “To the Hilt” is scheduled to start this Thursday, in the village of Sveta, in the vicinity of Demir Hisar. It was announced that the action will take place over the next ten weeks on a full – scale train station set, specially constructed for the movie.

Igor Ivanov is one of the most renowned Macedonian directors whose films “Bugs” and “Upside down” took part in numerous festivals worldwide and have received international acclaim.
Makedox Call For Rough-Cut-Workshop

MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival launches a 5 day rough-cut-workshop for creative documentaries under the mentorship of the awarded Danish editor Jesper Osmund designed for 5 documentary directors or editors from the Mediterranean, Central and Southeastern European regions with projects in the final stage of editing.
